The Lord's sheep

Spending some time at the baths on a farm near Citrusdal, I woke up early and was blessed as I read John chapter 10.

These verses were especially precious to me this morning:

John 10:27-28 ESV
[27] My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. [28] I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.

Here we see four aspects of being a sheep of Jesus:

1. Receiving (His Word),

2. Related (to Him as He relates to us. (Note how in Ex. 29:45-46 God relates to His people as "their God".)

3. Responding (in ongoing discipleship).

4. Rescued (eternally held safe from perishing)

In fact, doubly held secure - see v29

Thank you Jesus, our Good Shepherd!
